The West Virginia State Police have complimented CRS on our preventative maintenance program that keeps their system up to date with the latest firmware as well as dust free inside and out. This is one ofthe biggest differences between CRS and any of our competitors and makes for trouble free recording.
The WV State Police needs changed when they purchased Avtec Scout VOIP radio consoles and Cisco VOIP phones. Their old analog Voice logger was not able to be upgraded to meet their new VOIP requirements. The State Police also were considering other radio consoles for the Charleston Headquarters location.
The West Virginia State Police also considered Motorola MCC 5500, Motorola MCC 7500, Harris Symphony Dispatch Console, EF JohnsonStarGate 7000 Dispatch Console and Zetron’s new MAX Dispatch consoles. After Evaluating each, they purchased Motorola 7500 consoles for their Headquarters location in Charleston. Charleston Headquarters are utilizing the AIS server to record all the P25 Talk Groups. The State Police are currently using Motorola Smart Zone version 7.11. They can currently search for calls based on Talk group, user and unit ID. When they upgrade to Version 7.16 in the near future the radio system will be able to provide the location (Longitude and latitude) of each radio.
The Management can easily replay from any of the9 NexLogs in the WV State Police offices via the web browser application. This was a big improvement from the previous analog recorder they had. Now each administrator can log on to any of computer on their network have the same user experience as if they were using their own pc in their office. The dispatchers also have the ability to instantly playback any communication that occurred in case they didn’t understand the caller from their work station.
Each Eventide recorder is recording the caller ID of each caller. This gives the users the ability to lookup any phone call they want to playback using the caller ID making the search for calls quick and easy.
Each location is utilizing the extra channels to record each detachments interview room (Interrogation rooms) preserving the evidence in case pertinent information is given during an interrogation of suspect or witness.
CRS Factory trained Technicians monitor (the heartbeat) each system 24x7 so that if a channel fails to record or a system has an error CRS is immediately notified and can take action to correct the problem. This was a big improvement because the previous recorder did not have this feature and the State Police would find that a call they needed was not recorded for days or weeks.
